Fellowship Salary and Benefits

Salary

The salary and benefits for hand fellows are at the level of a University of Louisville PGY-6 (6th year of training after medical school).

Vacation

One-year fellows receive 4 weeks of paid leave time for vacations or meetings. Six-month fellows receive 2 weeks of paid vacation. Financial support for attendance at major meetings is available for fellows who are presenting work that they have done while at CMKI.

Educational Fund

Each one-year fellow has a $1,000 allowance for educational expenses; six-month fellows have a $500 allowance. Fellows may use these allowances to purchase books or loupes, to attend meetings, etc.

Malpractice Insurance

Malpractice coverage is provided by the University of Louisville for U.S. fellows and by the Kleinert Institute for international fellows.

Health and Dental Insurance

The program provides free or low-cost health and dental insurance for fellows. Contact the fellowship coordinator for current coverage details.
