Fellowship Program Facilities

Christine M. Kleinert Institute

The Institute is located in the Jewish Hospital Outpatient Care Center (OCC), 225 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, Kentucky. The Fellowship offices are on the 8th floor of the OCC. The Institute is in the heart of Louisville's downtown medical district, within walking distance of numerous hospitals as well as the University of Louisville Medical Center and Medical School.

Computers are available for presentation preparation. The computers in the fellows' room also have internet access via T1, allowing extramural e-mail access and access to online databases such as Medline. Literature searches can also be performed through the Jewish Hospital Library.

Hospitals and Clinics

The majority of surgery is performed at Jewish Hospital or in the Outpatient Care Center's surgical suites. The University of Louisville Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center, provides additional clinical experience.

The main clinic is located in the same building as the Fellowship offices. In addition, clinics are held at satellite offices in Jeffersontown, Kentucky; New Albany, Indiana; and Lexington, Kentucky.

In addition, special clinics are held at the Louisville Veterans Administration Medical Center, Shriner's Hospital for Children in Lexington, and the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs.

Fellows accompany their assigned Staff physician to these clinics as scheduled.
